Practitioners of Wang Xiangzai's YiChuen like to do combat stance for training. On the look of it, there is no resistance, a practitioner just stands there, perhaps with some nano movement.
Zhan zhuang is an energy exercise, not an endurance exercises. If your arms get tired during zhan zhuang, that’s going to interfere with ability to breathe well, and your ability to meditate well.
